An average 40,000 new patients are examined in payment section every year and 10,000 patients are examined in non-payment section. The non-payment section is meant for the economically under privileged in the villages and includes free transportation and free surgeries.

The following speciality clinics are developed in Sharat Laser Eye Hospital.

Cataract Clinic: All the cataract patients are screened with latest IOL Master “A Scan” and Retina screened with Zeiss OCT equipment. Patients eligible for surgery are operated in most sophisticated Laminar flow operation theatres with “Alcon Centurion” Autosert Phaco Machine with Alcon Luxor Microscope.

Cornea

  • Lasik - All youngsters with myopia are screened with latest pentacam HR machine for suitability for LASIK Surgery. All suitable people are treated Lasik, Lasek and surface ablation with NIDEK Excimer Laser CX III. Read more
  • Cornea Transplantation: Is also called as Penetrating Keratoplasty. It involves removing the diseased, damaged, infected or scarred cornea with another clear cornea donated by a donor. Cornea is the thin transplant layer of the front part of the eye ball Keratoplasty can be done by removing and replacing the entire cornea (or) some parts of the cornea only, in which case it is called as Lamellar Keratoplasty.     What is collagen cross linking?
    It is a type of laser eye treatment using a specified laser (ultraviolet).

Glaucoma Clinic: Every patient consulting our hospital is screened for Glaucoma with Non Contact Tonometer. All Glaucoma suspect patients are screened with Zeiss Computerized visual fields. Optic disc and retinal nerve fibre layer scan, ganglion cell layer analysis done by Zeiss OCT Machine. Read more
Retina Clinic: Diabetic Retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness with retinal disease. All Diabetic Patients are screened with OCT and Flourescein Angiogram and eligible patients are treated with latest Nidek Green Laser. Read more
